I have a fun project to share with you today which I made using some of the lovely products from the Store, all the lace, heart bling, flowers, leaves and pearl sprays were purchased from either the online 'Mad About Scrappin' Store or from one of their 'Flog it Friday' sales on their Facebook Like Page.

My project is a Pin Cushion Castle, I've been struggling with a tiny pin cushion for some time now and have received a few beautiful stick pins from friends in swaps etc so thought it was about time I had a decent Pin Cushion to hold them, and what better way to display bling than in a Castle :) right!!

My castle was made using an empty Milo Bar (energy bar) box, I cut in about 2/3 way up and then created the castle tops by cutting out little squares. These were attached together securely using masking tape. The two towers on either side were made using tp (toilet paper) rolls which I added a little grunge board to the top to make them a little higher.

Everything was coated in gesso to give it a little 'tooth' so that the paper would stay stuck to the box. I covered the castle in Kaisercraft's white 'Timeless' collection papers and then went about decorating it. There's lace around the tops of everything, black beaded trim on the towers together with the heart bling trim, I gesso'd the tops and added a little fine glitter.  Around the base I used a small black lace and added some bling mesh on top which I had in my stash, I also put three small black die cuts across the front to help break up all the pattern and to tie in with the black lace/bling.

The entry to the castle is just papers cut to shape and an old buckle that I had that was similar to a door, around this I used a tiny trim from Lindcraft. A little pear spray was placed at either side like trees to help disguise the joins (and to look pretty) together with a lovely large flower which I also gesso'd and glittered.

For the inside I cut some foam (as in fruit box) to shape and filled the bottom of each compartment then layered some wadding over the top and finished by covering in some white satin. Once finished and dry my lovely pins were placed in the castle to be displayed :)
